Butterfly Tea Party 2010
In 2010, the Butterfly Tea Party fundraiser was launched in Australia for the first time. Held in the month of August, in support of the McGrath Foundation, it proved a huge success. Within minutes of going on sale with the Charity Card, 20,000 units of the “Butterfly Cupcakes” card by Gerry Murray had been sold raising thousands of dollars for charity.
A Butterfly Tea Party competition inspired many of our Traders to aim high with their fundraising endeavours. Thank you to our supporters Julie Goodwin and Random House who provided signed copies of “Our Family Table” as prizes for our top fundraisers. Samantha Waalkens from VIC and Debbie Quinn were our top two fundrasiers – raising over $8,500 between them. Well done everyone!
During the month, thousands of tea parties were organized by Phoenix Traders around the country and much fun was had by Traders and their customers eating cupcakes, drinking tea and raising money for a great cause. Over $146,000 was raised for the McGrath Foundation from the first Australian Butterfly Tea Party fundraiser.
